Dan Hampton was drafted by the Bears in the first round of the 1979 draft. In 1979 he was voted All-Rookie by the Pro Football Writers Association. The following year he was a Second-team All-Pro selection and was voted to his first Pro Bowl after recording 11 sacks which lead the Bears.
